Luke Black
I am a first-generation student from Fair Play, SC. I hold an Associate of Arts from Tri-County Technical College along with a Bachelors of Science in Marketing from Lander University. I completed my Masters in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix in 2007, followed by my Masters of Education in School Counseling in 2017. I am also a Certified Career Development Facilitator.
My previous 19 years of career experience has been in education including both as a professional in higher education within multiple areas of student services and as a Professional School Counselor in secondary education.
Being a first-generation student has always given me the drive, passion and motivation to help others achieve their future academic, career and emotional/social goals. I plan to utilize such motivation in my position here at Converse University to encourage excellence instilling integrity within future leaders of our community while striving to inspire exploration and diversity. I will also make every effort to lead by example with respect, ultimately cultivating a brighter future local community and driving continuous progress.
I have a little girl by the name of Mary Delaney, who keeps me on my toes and is also my motivation every day. She and I have a rescue dog from the Greenville Humane Society by the name of Licky! He is mostly an American Pitbull and German Shepherd. I love drawing, painting, playing and just about anything with my daughter. I love to play billiards as well as the guitar. I also love everything regarding Clemson University baseball, basketball and football.
